How You Can Be A Mean Green Cleanin Machine

When life hands you lemons, make lemonade; or remove tarnish from copper and brass. You can also remove refrigerator odors with a slice of the citrus fruit, or squeeze the juice into the washing machine to make your whites whiter.

Arm yourself with some Arm & Hammer baking soda. The versatile powder removes scratches from counter tops, deodorizes carpets, unclogs the drain, removes furniture stains and even cleans the toilet bowl.

The next time you reach for salt to flavor your corn on the cob, throw some over your shoulder for good luck, and to clean grease and wine stains from your carpet. You can also use salt to disinfect sponges, clean residue from glass and brighten your cutting boards.

Olive oil is called a “good fat” for a reason—it does a great job polishing wood, shoes and stainless steel. It also stops doors from squeaking.

Black tea has been shown to be a powerful antioxidant. It’s also been shown to clean and stain wood furniture, remove mineral buildup on glassware and kill dust mites.

The next time someone brings over a bottle of cheap vodka, don’t complain, and don’t use it to make apple martinis; you’ll get a wicked hangover. Instead, use it to clean glass and keep your flowers fresh.

Is there anything hydrogen peroxide doesn’t clean? Cuts, wounds, insect bites…carpet. It also acts as laundry bleach, removes stains from white porcelain and eliminates mold and mildew.

The old tried and true club soda… removes fabric stains, rust, even cleans household plants. Plus, it’s quite refreshing with a wedge of lime.
